Kvelertak signs Warner/Chappell publishing deal

Posted: 07. Jan, 2014

Late Dec saw Kvelertak announcing the signing of a global publishing deal with Warner/Chappell.

Says Stine Lieng, A&R Manager for Warner Chappell Norway: ‘This represents a fantastic signing for us, one that we’re very proud of. Kvelertak is one of rock’s foremost acts, and they represent unique songwriting skills that combine a multitude of genre elements. We’ll preserve their rights and manage their portfolio to the best of our abilities.’

Kvelertak’s manager, Jonathan Rice of Egg Management is highly positive: ‘We’re really looking forward to build upon the success created by the album ‘Meir’, and to work closely with Lars Karlsson and his team’.

Dec 2013 saw Rolling Stone naming Kvelertak’s ‘Meir’ as last year’s second best metal album, a spot mirrored on SPINs similar list.

‘It’s beyond doubt that Kvelertak belongs to two camps of metal and rock fans, enabling them to reach out to die-hard metal and hard-rock aficionados as well as those that barely listen to the genres. This leaves the band in a position in which they have opportunity to reach out to a wider audience. The band is very active on the live circuit, and we will focus on synching their repertoire on TV, ads, movies and games platforms comments Warner Chappell Norway’s Stine Lieng.

On another note, Norwegian Kvelertak have recently been announced as headliners for this year’s DesertFest in London
