Nico & Vinz debuts on American TV and receives award for most played song on radio, and Norwegian producer Andreas Shüller reaches no. 5 on Billboard Hot 100. – it’s the Music Norway Week in Review.

A solid week for Nico & Vinz!

Last night, Thu 12th of June, Nico & Vinz performed at Jimmy Kimmel Live, marking their debut on the American TV market.

Domestic radio prizes awarded

At a ceremony held earlier this week, celebrating Norway’s joint collection society Gramo’s 25th anniversary, the organization unveiled its 2013 radio statistics.

The prize for most popular Norwegian track on domestic radio was awarded to Nico & Vinz for their international hit single ‘Am I Wrong’.

Veterans a-ha proved to be 2013’s most played Norwegian main artist on domestic radio.

Gramo’s 2013 statistics also reveal that Nico & Vinz scored another coveted prize in 2013: their ‘Am I Wrong’ racked up 184 hours, 1 minute and 44 seconds of airplay last year, a feat not matched by any other Norwegian artist in history.

Am I Wrong resided to a #8 on Billboard, still well within the top ten range. Speaking of Billboard, the Andreas Shüller produced tune Wiggle, climbs to a 5th place on the Hot 100.

Norwegian Top 10

There wasn’t much to report on the Norwegian Top 10. But it’s still a pretty interesting listen!

Okkultokrati announces split tour with Converge – and a new EP.

Sludge outfit Okkultokrati teams up with US-metal core icons Converge and Swedish metallers Martyrdöd for a round of European live-dates in August.Okkultokrati are also set to release a new LP titled ‘Night Jerks’ on the independent Fysisk Format label, coinciding with the upcoming European tour.
