International press trippin’ over Norwegian Turtle

Jersey Club artist Trippy Turtle has just released his debut single on Diplo’s Mad Decent label. Fun fact; Mad Decent’s roster also includes Norwegian artists Funkin Matt and Slick Shoota.

The tune Trippy’s Theme, featuring vocals by Santell, has got some real nice attention after its release on July 1st. EDM cred site Do Androids Dance (responsable for the nifty wording in the headline) says this about the debut:

– this dude, under all his guises, continues to bring it strong in 2014. Would not be surprised to see him become a household name at some point.

The single was featured on iTunes dance homepage, and got great reviews from sites such as This Song is Sick, Resident Advisor, Run The Trap and djoyBEAT.

– one of the most prominent, established, and well-liked jersey club music producers, writes Scott Randall for earmilk.

The single is close to 400,000 plays on SoundCloud and there’s already an official remix by Spank Rock and TWRK out.

Video premiere
The music video was premiered on
Pigeons and Planes last week. Animated by Nikolais Javan and illustrated by Dan Dussault. It’s a trippy affair. You can even spot fellow Norwegian DJ  Cashmere Cat and rapper Riff Raff in between strip clubs and grocery shopping.

Norwegian flavour
– What is it with Norwegians and making sexy ass bass music?, asks Do Androids Dance.

We don’t know, but we sure do like it.

Trippy Turtle is playing the Mad Decent Boat Party in November, alongside the likes of Dillon Francis and Diplo. Catch up on all his tour dates here!
