Producer/DJ/accomplished remixer Kygo announced this week that a global record deal with Sony Music/Ultra had been landed.
The 23-year old producer came to prominence through a string of remixes for acts such as Ed Sheeran and Coldplay, then expanded into live-DJing and is now set to focus on producing more original material towards the end of 2014.
Says Adam Granite, President, Northern & Eastern Europe and Africa, Sony Music International: – We are incredibly pleased to announce this signing. Kygo is a very talented artist and we look forward to taking his career to the next level as we build upon his strong social following. We are proud he chose to join the Sony Music family and we are very confident in his bright future across the globe.
President of Electronic Dance Music at Sony Music Entertainment and overall President of Ultra Records, Patrick Moxey chimes in with more praise: – He (Kygo) represents the new breed of electronic sound. Kygo’s assembled a massive group of fans through the Internet and we’re excited for the next stage of his growth.
Kygo’s first European and North American tours have fared extremely well, selling out venues on both sides of the Atlantic.
