Sept 23rd sees the start of Sondre Lerche’s 15-date US ‘Legends’ tour – set to coincide with the launch of his latest album ‘Please’. Lerche’s ‘Please’ album has debuted to highly favourable reviews in Scandinavia and prior to its US release this week, the first reviews from the other side of the Atlantic have now begun to trickle in.
Lerche’s ‘Please’ tour starts with a NYC show at the Bowery Ballroom on the 23rd and the finale comes at Pittsburg’s Altar Bar on Oct 20th. Tour dates and venue info on Lerche’s ‘Legends’ tour can be found in our comprehensive calendar section.
Praised by Norway’s national press for his experimentation with contrasting musical influences, Sondre’s latest album contains some of his most interesting arrangements and catchy songwriting to date, but also some of his most sombre and introspective – much of the material deals with his recent divorce.
Popmatters reviewed ‘Please’ last week, giving it a 9/10 score and declaring: ‘Please is Lerche’s most eclectic—and most successful—recording yet.’ Full review HERE
IndieMusic.com chimes in with another positive review: ‘Sondre Lerche’s emotional torture is pure pop gold, and has opened him up even further with one of the most creative and satisfying records of the year. The talent has always been undeniable, but with ‘Please’ he catapults himself into another stratosphere.’
