‘Zero Gravity State of Mind’ – New Sandra Kolstad album out this week

Sandra Kolstad’s third album, ‘Zero Gravity State of Mind’, saw its release this week. A string of strong reviews in the domestic press is mirrored by the first international ones that are equally positive. Nothing but Hope and Passion did a nice review of the album earlier this week, awarding it a 4,5/5 score, and stating that: ‘Oslo’s finest female trailblazer returns with her third studio album and delivers a feast for the eyes and ears that also works as a smooth transition from acoustic to electronic.’

Highasakite – Darth Wader

This week Highasakite revealed their new video for stand-out track ‘Darth Vader’ lifted from their celebrated album ‘Silent Treatment’. The little prat depicted in the vid isn’t exactly Darth Vader, but that doesn’t make the video less cool.
Highasakite just returned from a successful Australian tour – the 15th of November sees them playing live at the JAJAJA festival at The Great Hall in Mile End.

Christian Wallumrød Ensemble return to the UK

Next week sees Christian Wallumrød Ensemble returning to the UK for a set of live performances in York and Edinburgh. Exploring the space between different musical genres, Wallumrød’s music has moved in intriguing and boundary-breaking directions. The most recent album “Outstairs”, released in 2013, was awarded with Spellemann (Norwegian Grammy) in the category for contemporary music. With backgrounds from jazz/improvised music, classical music as well as Norwegian folk music, the musicians in the ensemble bring a wealth of experience to the group sound.
