Highasakite and Nils Bech to play this week’s Ja Ja Ja Festival in London.

The second edition of the Ja Ja Ja Festival swings into action this week: from the 13th to 15th November Highasakite, Nils Bech, Emiliana Torrini [ICE], When Saints Go Machine [DEN] and several other strong Nordic acts join in on celebrating the fifth birthday of Ja Ja Ja!

The Ja Ja Ja Festival 2014 will take place in two London venues, bringing some of the finest musicians from the Nordic region along for the ride. Highasakite are set to headline, alongside Emilia Torrini and When Saints Go Machine for a day’s worth of music, food and film at the beautiful Great Hall in Mile End.

Preceding this, Ja Ja Ja will turn its monthly home of The Lexington into a Nordic idyll, presenting two nights packed full of brand new music, incredible food and unmissable festivity in central London!

Ja Ja Ja Festival will showcase new music from Denmark, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Finland, Norway and Sweden alongside an innovative menu of mouth-watering cuisines, exclusive screenings and more.

Joining Highasakite at the Ja Ja Ja Festival main stage at the Great Hall will be Emilíana Torrini, When Saints Go Machine, Jenny Wilson, Sin Cos Tan and Byrta.

Artists playing The Lexington include some of the brightest up-and-coming names in Nordic music, such as Asbjørn, Death Hawks, Rytmeklubben, Blaue Blume, Low Roar, Sumie, Fufanu, Nils Bech and Noah Kin.

The festival will offer an equally innovative food programme curated by the Finnish chef and restauranteur – and former member of legendary rock band HIM – Antto Melasniemi. Promising “culinary experiences that go beyond food and drink” and exciting collaborations with artists playing the festival, Antto has received international acclaim for his signature combination of seasonal simplicity with conceptual dining, launching a series of award winning restaurants and pop-ups, including Design & Dine at London Design Festival this week, Kuurna, Ateljé Finne, Hel Yes!, The Solar Kitchen and The Open Kitchen project.

Festival goers at the Great Hall will also be free to enjoy an exclusive programme of screenings from the Nordic Music Video Awards.
