Hot-tipped six-piece Kid Astray lands UK, European, Australian and NZ licensing deals.

Kid Astray have had a banner year so far in 2014: two singles have proven to be radio-friendly and have seen heavy rotation on Norwegian national radio stations NRK P3 and P1, Sweden’s P3 as well as Finland’ YLEX. Nylon, Vice and The Line of Best Fit have given the sextet extensive coverage while a management deal with the UK’s Big Life has also been landed.

Kid Astray have recently put the finishing touches on their debut album in Manchester, assisted by producer Joe Cross (Hurts, Chloe Howl) and mixer Jon Gray (New Order, The Editors).

This week, Kid Astray announced a major new milestone: the band have landed a licensing deal with the Caroline-label Drawing Board (Universal Music), covering the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand for their upcoming EP ‘Back to the Ordinary’. The EP is scheduled for an international release on Dec 15th, and features their two hit singles ‘No Easy Way Out’ and ‘Taking You With Me’. The EP’s title track was recently featured on Music Week’s weekly Playlist, and also made it to the trade publication’s ‘Key Releases’ feature.

This autumn, Kid Astray also inked a booking deal with Coda Agency, covering the live music markets in the UK, EU, Asia, South America and Australia.

Says Kid Astray’s Jakob Bechmann: – It’s rewarding and motivating that more parties want to join our team and help us in getting our music out to a wider global audience.

Kid Astray is set to play London venue Oslo on Dec 5th and are also confirmed for a Eurosonic Noorderslag showcase on Jan 15th.
