By Erlend Buflaten Posted: 05. Jan, 2015

One Christmas album rules our first Top Ten of the year.

For the last few weeks, Kurt Nilsen and Kringkastingsorkesteret’s beloved Christmas album “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” has had several songs at the top of our weekly Top Ten lists. In the first week of 2015, we still see a strong presence of tracks from the album, with no less than 5 tracks amongst the most streamed songs.

Not surpisingly did Christmas-themed tracks increase its streams during the last weeks of 2014. As already mentioned, Kurt Nilsen and KORK had some of the most popular tracks in December, taking the top position on WiMP and 3. on Spotify with “Himmel på jord“. They also claim 6, 7, and 9 on WiMP, and 8 and 10 on Spotify.

Another holiday favorite, Maria Mena’s “Home for Christmas” has also seen heavy rotation this December, peaking at number 2 on WiMP and number 6 on Spotify.

Named one of the producers likely to dominate 2015, Kygo is still the most popular Norwegian artist amongst Spotify-users, who can’t get enough of his first single “Firestone“. The chill house track with Conrad on vocals is the 5. most streamed track on WiMP the last week of December.

We can’t wait to see what 2015 will bring. Keep checking in with us to find out who the most streamed artist are at the moment.
