Kygo back on top

By Erlend Buflaten Posted: 07. Jan, 2015

A new year brings us a new Top Ten with the return of some highlights from 2014.

Last week, the Top Ten was dominated by what can now be described as Norway’s official holiday album; “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” from Kurt Nilsen and the Norwegian Radio Orchestra. As we’ve entered the second week of the new year, all things Christmas seem to have vanished from playlists all over the country. With the exception of Kurt Nilsen’s duet with Helene Bøksle on “Gje Meg Handa Di Venn“which is #8 on WiMP and Martin Tungevaag’s holiday EDM banger “Nissemor Og Meg” which is #5 on Spotify.

Set for an amazing year, with album release and massive world wide touring, Kygo and “Firestone” is back on top. The song just passed 23.000.000 streams on Spotify alone, and is amongst the most popular electronic tracks in the world at the moment.

There’s also room for a newcomer this week: Freddy Kalas and the song “Pinne for Landet” makes an impressive debut on #2 on Spotify. The former vocal of Broiler’s career starting “ski-triology” has continued where Broiler left off. It seems though it’s room for them both, with Broiler’s “Wild Eyes” at #3 on both WiMP and Spotify and “For You” on #7, up two places from last week.
