Mayhem Instagram take-over

Mayhem at the Øya Festival 2014

We’ve given full reign of our Instagram account over to Mayhem for the duration of their current North American tour. The legendary black-metallers are set to play Chicago’s Bottom Lounge tonight and have promised to share behind the scenes footage with the Music Norway audience throughout their tour that lasts until Jan 31st.

Sandra Kolstad debuts stunning new video

Sandra Kolstad

This week saw Sandra Kolstad debuting her new track ‘My Yellow Heart’ with a stunning accompanying video. Set in a visually otherworldly and unearthly setting on Iceland, the ‘My Yellow Heart’ video fits nicely in with the track’s dueling nature. Fusing fluttering electro bits with acoustic elements, Kolstad manages to bridge the two sonic landscapes masterfully.

‘My Yellow Heart’ is lifted off Kolstad’s album ‘Zero Gravity State Of Mind’ which sees its release in the UK and US on 3 March.

Emilie Nicolas UK live appearance

Emilie Nicolas

Fresh off a sold-out Rockefeller venue in Oslo, Emilie Nicolas brings her unique brand of melancholically twisted electropop to St Pancras Old Church in London in late January. Nicolas burst onto Norway’s domestic scene with her version of classic track Pstereo by the DumDum Boys, and has since experienced a veritable meteoric rise, bolstered by the success of her moving first single ‘Grown Up’ and also a domestic No#1 album; ‘Like I’m a Warrior’.

Susanne Sundfør to headline Øya festival

Susanne Sundfør

Susanne Sundfør is currently gearing up for the release of her much anticipated new album ‘Ten Love Song which will see its release on February 16 via Sonnet Sound/Kobalt. . Earlier in Jan, The Fader premiered her new single ‘Delirius’, describing the track thus: ‘Delirious certainly speaks to Sundfør’s powers, with machine-gun drums and synths that sound so burly that they should be tested for creatine use’.

Earlier this week, Oslo’s Øya Festival confirmed Sundfør as one of its 2015 headliners, awarding her the event’s key closing slot at the main stage.

3rd of March sees Susanne Sundfør heading out on a nine-date European tour in support of ‘Ten Love Songs’. Tour details in our calendar section HERE.
