For the third consecutive year, Australian radio channel Triple J has invited a global audience to vote for the best songs of 2014. Triple J claims that the Hot 100 is ‘the world’s biggest music democracy’ as the poll is voted by a global public.
More than two million votes from 188 countries were submitted, resulting in three Norwegian songs making it to the Hot 100 list: on No#59 Röyksopp & Robyn’s ‘Monument’, on #73rd Röyksopp & Robyn’s ‘Do It Again’ and on #77nd Highasakite’s ‘Since Last Wednesday’.
Quite impressively, Norway is ranked 5th on Triple J’s Hot 100 nations ranking, placing closely behind significantly larger countries Australia, USA, UK and New Zealand.
