As a primer for Kid Astray’s March 16 debut album release, Idolator premiered the single ‘Still Chasing Nothing’ this week – a strong follow-up to 2014’s hit single ‘Back To The Ordinary’.
Says Kid Astray’s frontman, Benjamin Giørtz, to Idolator: – ‘Still Chasing Nothing’ is about overcoming a hard situation and realizing that there’s a freedom in not constantly having to chase after other people’s approval. It’s a song about taking control of your own life and constantly looking ahead towards a brighter future. The inspiration comes from an old synth I found in my basement – one of dads old ones, an Oberheim ob-8.
Kid Astray’s forthcoming album ‘Home Before the Dark’ is slated for a March 16 release via Norwegian label Cosmos. Says Giørtz on what to expect from the band’s debut album: – As for the record, you can expect to see a clear development for us as a band and you’ll of course get a solid pop album with some really hard-hitting tunes.
Thu 12th of Feb sees Kid Astray hitting the stage of Berlin’s FluxBau as part of the evening’s not-to-be-missed Ja Ja Ja club night festivities.
On Fri 13th the collective head over to Norrköping, Sweden’s Where’s the Music venue – don’t miss out on an opportunity to hear material from the band’s upcoming debut album.
