Enslaved with strong Billboard debut

Enslaved entered three Billboard charts with their 13th album 'In Times'

‘In Times’, the 13th album from metal legends Enslaved entered three Billboard charts this week. Debuting at #4 on the Heatseekers Album Chart, #8 on the Hard Rock Album Chart and #15 on the Independent Album Chart, the album is off to a great start. Currently on a headlining tour through the U.S. and Canada supporting the new album, the band took to their Facebook page to comment on the news:

– Here’s the proof that the number 13 is, in fact, lucky (…) Getting the great news while on this highly successful tour – where responses have been fantastic – is just great, said Ivar Bjørnson on behalf of the band.

Jenny Hval starts tour with Perfume Genius

Jenny Hval supports Perfume Genius on nine U.S. shows this March

This week marked the start for Jenny Hval’s US tour supporting Perfume Genius. The nine stop tour comes just after Hval completed her support tour for St.Vincent in early March. Jenny Hval is set to release her fifth album “Apocalypse, Girl” on Sacred Bones Records June 15. Following the release, Hval will set out on 15 show European tour in June.

Norwegian number 1 in Japan

Sigurd “Ziggy” Rosnes has produced and co-written the main single from Koda Kumi's latest number 1 album.

Sigurd “Ziggy” Rosnes from Trondheim based songwriting and production company Dsign Music sits at the top of the album chart in Japan. Rosnes produced and co-wrote the main single “Dance in the Rain” from Japanese recording artist Kumi Koda’s 12th studio album “Walk of My Life”.

Kygo reach Spotify milestone

Kygo is the second Norwegian artist to hit 100 million streams on Spotify

Just after releasing his second original single, tropical house sensation Kygo became the second Norwegian artist to surpass 100 million streams on Spotify with ‘Firestone’ this week. The track was released December 1. of 2014 and quickly became a streaming favorite world wide. Nico & Vinz’ 2014 monster hit ‘Am I Wrong’ was the first Norwegian song streamed more than 100 million times on the streaming service.

Kygo is set to play a headlining live show at the huge Ultra Music Festival in Miami next week.

New Nordic Playlist

This week features a special edition of Nordic Playlist, one dedicated entirely to New Nordic Hip Hop. Explore the fresh new sound from some of the greatest hip hop and rap acts in the Nordic region at the moment, including Norway’s own Ivan Ave and Lars Vaular.
