Hot on the heels of the Norwegian chart-topper in Japan () comes another chart (partly) Norwegian success – this time it is a No#1 on the US iTunes album charts. Artist Astrid Smeplass, who generated plenty buzz at music industry event by:Larm earlier this year, is featured on Shawn Mendes’ debut album, lending her voice to the track ‘Air’ as the album’s only featured guest vocalist. Shawn Mendes and Astrid share the same record label, Universal Music US, and her debut album expected later this year is eagerly awaited by industry execs.
Highasakite premieres Bon Iver tribute
When Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon saw Norway’s Highasakite perform at the 2012 Øya Festival in Oslo, he became an instant fan. This week, Highasakite finally released their version of Bon Iver´s ‘Heavenly Father’, written and released for the soundtrack to Zach Braff’s 2014 film Wish I Was Here.
Todd Terje confirmed for Glastonbury
This week, Todd Terje was announced as one of the 2015 Glastonbury confirmed artists alongside such acts as Patti Smith, Pharrell Williams, Deadmau5, Suede and Lionel Richie. Taake to embark on first North American tour
