Spin premieres Kid Astray’s new ‘Diver’ single

Kid Astray are gearing up for the June 15th international release of their full length debut ‘Home Before the Dark’ via Cosmos, with a string of singles this spring. The latest in this run of catchy singles is their new track ‘Diver’. Spin Magazine debuted the track this week, writing: ‘another shimmering blast of airy keys, rumbling bass, and soaring vocals. Over a 6/8 shuffle, the band plunges you into the briny deep, insisting “Getting further from the shore / Let’s go floating in the endless flood.’

Nordic Music Video Awards

Sat 25rd May marks the 2015 Nordic Music Awards, held in Oslo. Among the Nordic nominees we find such Norwegian acts as Röyksopp & Robyn, Kate Havnevik, Timbuktu, Kaja Gunnufsen, Gabrielle and Ylvis. The finals ceremony on Sat, are preceded by a symposium, a new feature for 2015, which includes nominee presentations as well as a panel discussion on the current state of Nordic music videos.

New Todd Terje remix EP on its way

Announced this week, the aptly titled Todd Terje remix EP ‘It’s Remix Time’, the fitting companion to last year’s applauded full-length album ‘It’s Album Time’, is set for a release on 15 Jun. The much-anticipated outing features remixes from French house hero Pépé Bradock, Joakim, and Eric Duncan. Deejay has a nice preview of it, complete with streaming excerpts.

Kygo passes 1m FB-mark

As of writing, Kygo’s global hit ‘Firestone’ has racked up more than 171m plays on Spotify. Last year, the track was aired no less than 153997 times on radio stations across the globe. Another landmark was reached this week; Kygo became the first Norwegian solo-artist to reach 1m likes on Facebook.

New Nordic Playlist

Following successful editions in Oslo and Reykjavik, The Nordic Playlist Radio Bar is now set to head to Berlin Festival to offer up a two day celebration of the finest Nordic music!

On Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st May, radio presenters from throughout the Nordics and Germany will join the Nordic Playlist at Myslíwska in Kreuzberg to present tailor made shows featuring their favourite sounds from the North.
In celebration of the events, The Nordic Playlist has created a brand new playlist, featuring multiple entires by Berlin-based Norwegian artist Sandra Kolstad.
