What are you looking for at Øya this year?

– Well, I prefer always not to plan out everything upfront to much at festivals as obviously the flow is half of the fun. That said: I am so looking forward to see Nile Rodgers perform, also Father John Misty, Courtney Barnett, Flying Lotus, Sun O))), Enslaved, Caribou, Shamir, Courtesy and Holly Herndon.

What’s the current state of Norwegian music in Germany?

– We saw in general within the last decade an opening for music not coming from UK or USA. The Post-Internet music community is so much more international open and by that also enjoying music from Africa or Scandinavia. Regarding Norwegian music the team behind Øya festival had a huge influence as they kept on keeping on transmitting the story of great Norwegian acts into Germany. In my old position as Editor in Chief of Intro Magazine I initiated together with them an yearly event series in Berlin where they presented Norwegian acts in the contact of the „Intro Intim“ shows.

What are the three Norwegian acts you’re most excited to check out this year?

– Skatebård, Susanne Sundfor and Jenny Hval.

Lucas Vionnet, coordination, booking & production at A.K.A

What are you looking for at Øya this year?

– It will be the first time for me attending Øya. I’m more than happy to come, it is actually one of the top festival i’d really like to experience! The program & lineup are really impressive and it’s a real honor to be part of the Øya International program. I’ll take whatever comes to me and I guess the delegates will help me to find the way to enjoy the festival.

What’s the current state of Norwegian music in France?

– Norwegian music is well represented in France, i mean in the field i’m working for, mainly electronic music, there are great acts and good label such as Full Pupp, Feedelity, Smalltown supersound. I’m actually taking care of Andre Bratten, Lindstrom and Todd Terje as a sub agent for france through out my company A.K.A, so i ‘m doing my best to promote music from Norwegian artists ;).

Actually, in France in the upcoming months Norway & Scandinavian countries will be the guests countries for different events such as Les Arcs Film Festival in Les Arcs (December #15), Boréales Festival in Caen (Nov #15) Polar in Paris (first edition in April #16).

What are the three Norwegian acts you’re most excited to check out this year?

– Hard to choose but, I’ve always wanted to see Jagga Jazist, and after listening to the playlist, i’ll check out Finebassen and Honeymoon.

What’s the current state of Norwegian music in the US?

– I think there isn’t enough of Norwegian music in our midst really. With bigger names like Röyksopp and Kygo, there is definitely an interest to discover more, and at NYLON, we have covered various new musicians from Anna of the North and Highasakite,

What are the three Norwegian acts you’re most excited to check out this year?
