The report shows Norwegian’s love for festivals. 1.8 million people attended a festival in 2014 and they saw a lot of shows while they were there. By adjusting for day and festival passes the report states that a total of 4470 concerts and events combined drew an audience of more than 2.2 million.
The report estimated day pass and festival holders to attend 2.5 shows per day.

Festivals had a total revenue of 790,8 mnok in 2014. 26,2% comes from public funding, while ticket sales, sales on site and sponsors account for the remaining 583,8 mnok.
165 mnok was paid out in concert fees, where pop and rock festivals alone accounted for 87 mnok. Combined Norwegian artists receive 53% of the fees, while international acts and performers receive 47%.
In total over 20 000 artists held concerts or took part in a work or performance at the festivals. 31% performed at a rock/pop festival and “knutepunkt” festivals. Traditional accounted for 8%, classical 5% and 6% of the artists performed at a non-music festival.
