Alan Walker won EBBA 2017

Yesterday, in Oslo (Norway), ALAN WALKER was announced as the first winner of the 2017 European Border Breakers Awards (EBBA), the European music awards for emerging artists.

A total of ten EBBA winners will be announced in the upcoming weeks. The Awards Ceremony takes place on 11 January 2017 in Groningen, as part of the Eurosonic Noorderslag festival.

19-year old Alan Walker is already a well known name all over Europe. The Norwegian EDM-producer’s EBBA Awards-winning song Faded became a smash hit last year topping the charts in ten European nations.

English-born Walker moved with his parents to Norway at the age of 2 and grew up surrounded by technology. Inspired by different EDM producers, he created his own drumstep music. His first single Faded was supplemented with vocals by singer Iselin Solheim, and the track was soon picked up and re-released, and in 2015 Walker signed to Sony Music.

Before his next tour throughout Europe Walker will perform at the EBBA Awards.
