Meet the Norwegian delegates going to Reeperbahn

Key Norwegian industry players and some of the most exciting Norwegian acts are set for Reeperbahn this month

Once again it’s time for Reeperbahn, and Music Norway are bringing some great people to Reeperbahn this month. See who they are and what they do below

TOMAS LINNES / MUSIKKOPERATØRENE

Tomas Linnes is the Export Manager at Musikkoperatørene. Musikkoperatørene is Norways biggest independent distributor and provide physical and digital distro for around 250 Norwegian labels in all genres. Tomas focuses mainly on spreading exciting Norwegian music on physical formats abroad.

TROND TORNES / PHONOFILE

Trond Tornes is the CSO for Phonofile. Phonofile is the biggest distributor in the Nordics for indie labels and their artists. Trond has worked in digital distribution since 2003, the last years with Phonofile where he has contributed to developing the companies growth. His focus areas for Phonofile has been Strategy and Internationalisation. The lasts three years Trond has been busy setting up Phonofile offices and companies in London and New York. Trond was part of founding Nordic showcase festival Bylarm, MashUpNorway and other organisations connected to music and/or tech. Trond is also advisor for KZN Imbizo showcase festival in Durban, South Africa.

HENRIK HAAGENSEN / PLAYGROUND MUSIC NORWAY

Henrik Haagensen is the general manager for Playground Music Norway. Playground Music Norway is apart of Playground Music Scandinavia and is the largest indie company in the Nordic countries. Playground Music works with A & R, marketing, digital development and publishing for new artists and their own catalogue. They have a long history in the Nordic representative for a large number of foreign companies and distributors, digitally and physically, for a large number of Nordic companies.

SVERRE AKSEL EILERTSEN / AT HOME MUSIC

Sverre Aksel Eilertsen is the founder of At Home Music. At Home Music is an Oslo based label and creative collective. Sverre Aksel currently represents Jakob Ogawa, Peter Estdahl, Great People and Blood Forest Family.

GYRO LEIRA / STAGEWAY

Gyro Leira is works in artist management at Stageway. Stageway AS produces and conveys culture and entertainment. With offices in Oslo and Bergen, Stageway provides artist management and works as a concert agency and promoter. They work to build artist careers and produce concerts and tours with artists from home and abroad.

DAG KROGSVOLD / DJ BEAT RECORDS SCANDINAVIA

Dag Krogsvold is the founder of DJ Beat Records Scandinavia. DJ Beat Records Scandinavia is record company devoted to Hard Dance, Dance and Trance. Working together with the some of greatest labels and producers in the world in this genre, DJ Beat Records are proud to present this music in the Nordic territory.

FRITHJOF HUNGNES / PROPELLER RECORDINGS

Frithjof Hungnes is the found of Propeller Recordings. Propeller Recordings is a Norwegian independent record label based Oslo. It has grown into an influential label both in its home city as well as worldwide, and has now expanded to include a UK office based in London. The label operates across a wide number of genres and concentrates on Norwegian artists who have commercial potential worldwide. The current roster including Dagny, Highasakite, Sløtface, Moddi, Apothek, The Fjords, Hanne Hukkelberg, Frøkedal and Thea & The Wild.

MARTIN SCHILDE / TOOTHFAIRY

Martin Schilde is the Head of Toothfairy. Toothfairy is a management and record label based in Sandvika, Norway, working with a wide variety of artists, songwriters, bands, DJs and Producers from Norway. Martin represents some of the best talent Norway has to offer.

SARAH CHANDERIA / HACATE ENTERTAINMENT GROUP

Sarah-Chanderia is founder and President of Hacate Entertainment Group (HEG) which started life as an ASCAP publishing company in New York City called Hacate Music in 1989. It joined its BMI (Vinkona Music) and SESAC (KittiKami Music) cousins in 1998 to become HEG. In 2001 the company opened a branch in Oslo, Norway (now the headquarters) where it has a TONO company, and further expanded in 2015 to include a STIM company (Hacate Scandinavia). HEG represents synch rights in Norway for Cosmos Music/Imagem Music/Budde Music, Edition Wilhelm Hansen/ The Music Sales Group, Mars Music, Misty Music and Schubert Music Publishing as well as the entire Sony Music (records) catalogue. HEG also provides rights clearance (music, film/TV clip, name/likeness/publicity, logo, picture) for film, TV, advertising and game companies, as well as living stage productions. Sarah believes knowledge is power; she has presented workshops and moderated/appeared on panels regarding various aspects of the music business all over they world, in addition to providing consulting services for those wishing assistance with music and music industry-related issues.

JENS PETTER WIG / KONG TIKI RECORDS

Jens-Petter is the label boss of Kong Tiki Records, a label based in both Norway and the US. He started out making fanzines and DIY punk labels and has since worked as A&R for Swedish independent label MNW as well as touring and recording for several bands. In 2005 he founded Kong Tiki Records with an American partner with the idea to sign and promote Norwegian bands abroad.

Kong Tiki have primarily been focusing on rock bands, from garage rock (Ricochets, Pirate Love), to classic/hard rock (Moving Oos, Cadillac), alternative rock (Pekka Volt, Israelvis, The School), metal (Torch) and now recently punk/hardcore with CASTRO, a band consisting of veteran members from the Norwegian punk/hardcore scene (Life.. But How To Live It, Israelvis, Funny Farm).

JONE MALMIN / DER NORDAGENT

Jone Malmin is the founder of Der NordAgent. Based in Frankfurt, Der NordAgent serves as a booking agency that focuses mainly on Scandinavian talent in Germany. Jone works with artists across all genres from pop, rock to jazz and blues.
