Bernhoft

Jarle Bernhoft (b. 1976), known under artist name Bernhoft, was a member of bands Explicit Lyrics and Span, the last disbanded in 2005. Since the he was a contributor on recordings and concerts with several high profile jazz and pop artists in Norway, before launching his solo album Ceramik City Chronicles in 2008. The follow up 1:Man 2:Band, a double live album, came in 2010, but it was with his second studio album Solidarity Breaks in 2011 that Bernhoft entered the mainstream. It went to nr 1 on the album chart list, won the Spellemann as album of the year, and Bernhoft was honoured as artist of the year. He was invited to Ellen DeGeneres Show the same year where he performed “C’mon Talk”.

Bernhoft was awarded the Statoil grant of one million Norwegian kroner in 2012, and is a priority artist in Music Norway’s Export Program. The aim is to give Norwegian artists an opportunity to make an international mark.
