Kaizers Orchestra is arguably one of the biggest success stories in Norwegian rock history. The band has released 10 records since 2010, topped singles and album charts, won four Spellemann awards, has a big national following and toured Europe several times. In 2006 they played the main stage at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark.
The band has built their own universe musically inspired by Tom Waitz, Eastern European music and “ompa” rhythms, and utilizing scrap material and oil drums to create a unique and easy recognizable sound. In 2010 the band started recording the trilogy Violeta Violeta, and stated that at the end of touring the last album in the trilogy the band would take a break from recording and touring an undefined period of time.
