Kygo’s North American tour already a success prior to its start

Sold out shows is the norm for Kygo’s extensive North American tour kicking off this week.

May 29th marks the start of Kygo’s 18-date North American tour. The tour could be declared a success even before the 22-year old producer/DJ sets foot on the continent – the majority of the live shows are already sold out.

Full details on live dates and venues HERE.

Kygo is also confirmed for Belgium’s massive Tomorrowland festival in late July. Live dates are constantly added to the busy producer/DJ’s itinerary – bearing witness of a career on a steady upwardly trajectory.

Kygo emerged onto the scene with a remix of Passenger’s “Let Her Go”, which charted at #1 on the Hype Machine charts for multiple days. He has since followed up with massively popular remixes, including Ed Sheeran’s ‘I See Fire’ which has racked up more than 7,5m plays on SoundCloud.

Earlier in May, Kygo joined the ranks of Tiësto, Giorgio Moroder and Urban Contact in making a remake of Coldplay’s single ‘Midnight’. Retaining the vocals intact, Kygo adds reverbed piano and light percussion on this ambient electronic piece, resulting in a pulsating deep-house rework of the Coldplay original. This week the remix passed a major landmark; 1 million plays on SoundCloud:

The story behind Kygo’s Coldplay remix-assignment is also worth sharing: after Diplo gave the 22-year old economy student a guest-DJ slot at his BBC Radio programme, Coldplay got hold of his contact info via no other than Pete Tong, eventually leading to Kygo remixing Coldplay’s ‘Midnight’.
