Unsound Festival announces 2014 line-up

By Tomas Lauvland Pettersen Posted: 19. Jun, 2014

Key Polish festival unveils strong 2014 programme with extensive Norwegian line-up.

Earlier this week, Polish festival Unsound announced the first clutch of artists set to perform from October 12th through 19th at venues across Kraków. This year’s festival theme is ‘The Dream.’

States the festival: ‘The Dream plays out on laptops used for work and leisure, in networked coffee shops, airports, international ‘artistic enclaves’ and nightclubs. Anxiety is its underside: those Living The Dream often do so in precarious financial situations, while in the background, ecological and economic systems lurch towards collapse.’

Supported by Music Norway, the Norwegian contingent to the festival is considerable and carefully put together by co-ordinator and curator Mattis With. The first batch of Norwegian acts includes:

Deathprod presents Treetop Drive

Norwegian drummers Kenneth Kapstad and Tomas Jahrmyr are set to perform with Ren Schofield, AKA Container.

Several Norwegian acts are scheduled to be added to the roster – we’ll keep you posted.

Other international acts confirmed for the Polish festival includes Carter Tutti Void—the live trio of Chris Carter, Cosey Fanni Tutti and Nik Void—as well as Swans, Perc, Rrose, Evol, Ben Frost, Joey Anderson, TCF, Total Freedom and DJ Stingray. Australian band The Necks will perform with Austria’s Radian, while Księżyc and Zamilska make up the Polish contingent.
