New tracks from Team Me and Emilie Nicolas, Kim Hiorthøy returns with new album, new Highasakite live dates and the weekly Nordic Playlist – it´s our Week in Review.

Team Me premiere new video 

Team Me are gearing up for the their 1st of September album release of ‘Blind As Night!’ (Propeller). Last week the band released the first single lifted off the album and this week a new video for the solid track was debuted.

Highasakite announce Australian live dates

Last week saw Highasakite heading out on the first leg of a packed autumn European tour, kicking off with a gig at the Green Man Festival in  Abergavenny, Wales  on Fri 15th and ending on Sept 7th with an appearance at the Berlin Festival. Earlier this week, the collective announced a set of Australian live dates in September. Check out the video above for full tour details.

Emilie Nicolas prepares for debut album release with new single

One of the autumn´s most anticipated debut albums sees its release on 29th of September with Emilie Nicolas´ ´Like I´m A Warrior´. Her recent appearance at Oslo´s Øya Festival earner her a string of very favourable reviews from the attending international press: Under The Radar, MTV Iggy and Line of Best Fit. This week Emilie Nicholas released a taster from the album in the form of single ´Nobody Knows´.

Strong Norwegian line-up at Incubate Festival

Oslo venue Blå and Music Norway team up to present a strong line-up at Tilburg’s Incubate Festival which runs from 15 to 21 September. No less than ten Norwegian acts are confirmed for the event which is supported by Music Norway; Okkulokrati, Electric Eye, Deathcrush, Tremoro Tarantura, Next Life, Moon Relay, MoE, Staer and  Tusmørke are all set to play the vibrant Tilburg festival next month.

 New Kim Hihorthøy album details unveiled 


Smalltown Supersound have unveiled details of the new Kim Hiorthøy album, ‘Dogs’, which will be out the 22. September. Kim Hiorthøy’s latest outing was 2007’s ‘My Last Day’ which earned him a dedicated following at home and abroad. On his third full-length albumHiorthøy has stripped everything down to a minimum, and gone to the core of his characteristic sound. The album consists of mostly just piano and ambience with some beats, and on some tracks the occasional synth.

Smalltown Supersound also released a taster from the upcoming album this week – ‘The Woods’ bodes well for next month’s album release. Listen to it HERE.

New Nordic Playlist

No weekend without it – a new Nordic Playlist from the Faroe Islands – curated by  no other than Eivør who picked Ane Brun’s ‘These Days’ and Moddi’s ‘House by the Sea’ as her Norwegian favourites.

This week, the Nordic Playlist is also fronting new mix up from Norway’s Pieces of Juno featuring the premiere of her BANKS remix.
