Norwegian management company Mandelbaum has signed it’s first international act, the renowned duo Digitalizm .
Mandelbaum already represents Cashmere Cat, Lindstrøm, Bearson, Hasta, Rytmeklubben, Village, Slipmats, Henrik the Artist, Hi Tom, Torjus and DJ Karaoke.
Mandelbaum founder and CEO Vegard Waske tells Music Norway he’s honored to represent the group.
– We have always been used to working internationally, with acts based in LA and New York, working with a Hamburg-based artist will be just as interesting. We´re honored that we were considered on the same level as a UK- or US-based management, as we are still a growing company. Digitalism is allready a well established name and we feel like we have both the competance and network to take them to the next level of their career.
Digitalism is actually a big reason the other half of Mandelbaum, Karen Norbakk started working with electronic music.
– I have been a fan since discovering them in the dark clubs of Paris when I was 19. They are one of the biggest reasons for my venture into electronic music. It is an honor to now be working with them closely.
Norbakk was recently given the first Music Norway industry grant.
Digitalism formed in Hamburg in 2004 and consists of Jens “Jence” Moelle and Ismail “Isi” Tüfekçi. With classic club bangers like “Pogo”, “Blitz” and more recently “Utopia”, they have long been at the vanguard of the electronic indie scene. In the solitude of their WWII bunker studio in Hamburg, they combine their sophisticated tastes for the perfect balance of bass and pop-sensibility, creating short soundtracks for endless club nights.
Digitalism is far into the process of completing their next album, and Mandelbaum are now planning the first single for spring release.
