Nominees for the 61st annual Grammy awards were announced Friday December 7th, where the two Norwegians are on the list. In addition, Kaskade’s remix of Kygo’s “Stargazing” featuring Justin Jesso and two albums Fred Ball has contributed to, receive nods.

Morten Lindberg with his record company “2L” is nominated two times in the category «Best Immersive Audio Album» for his work with:
«Folketoner» with “Det Norske Jentekor”, which is directed by Anne Karin Sundal-Ask.
«Henning Sommerro: Ujamaa & The Iceberg», with Ingar Heine Bergby and “Trondheim Symfoniorkester”, and soloists who perform two of the composer’s works.
Morten Lindberg now has 34 Grammy-nominations since 2006, 26 of these in categories Best Engineered Album, Best Surround Sound Album, Best Immersive Audio Album and Producer of the Year.
Leif Ove Andsnes rakes in his 10th Grammy Nomination
Leif Ove Andsnes on his part, is nominated in the category “Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance” for his work with Canadian Marc André Hamelin on:
“Stravinsky: The Rite Of Spring, Concerto For Two Pianos.”
This nomination adds to Andsnes’ former nominations, leaving him with 10 nods from The Academy. He stands beside his colleague, Lindberg, without a win. Possibly this year will be their year.
Other Norwegians involved, but not directly nominated
“Best Urban Contemporary Album”:
The Carters (Beyonce and Jay-Z) – “Everything Is Love”, where Norwegian producer, Fred Ball, is credited as co-producer of the songs “713”, “Friends” and “Heard About Us”.
“Best R&B Album”:
Toni Braxton – “Sex & Cigarettes”, here, Fred Ball, has figured as co-producer and songwriter of the songs “Sorry” and “Deadwood”.
“Best Remixed Recording”:
The American producer and DJ, Kaskade, is nominated for his remix of “Stargazing” featuring Justin Jesso, which is co-written, produced and recorded by Kygo.
The 61st Annual Grammy Awards will be celebrated and take place Sunday February 10th, 2019 at The STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.
