SXSW 2019: Sounds From Norway for the sixth time

By Christian Gran Svenningsen

Six bands will fill the stage at Elysium on Red River

This year’s event is presented by Brilliance and Atomic Soul in association with Music Norway and the Royal Norwegian Consulate General in Houston, on Thursday 14th March.

Back for a sixth consecutive time in Texas, Sounds of Norway will show everyone what is happening in Norway’s music scene these days.

On the lineup you’ll find both newer acts, but also well established, professional bands who have played together for many years. The chosen acts also give you a good mix of genres, ranging from the urban and R&B world with Unge Ferrari, to the sucker punching, tightly played rock from Death by Unga Bunga.

Norway is well represented at SXSW 2019, where Atomic Soul has Unge Ferrari and Farao, Brilliance has The Other End and Intertwine and Jansen Records has Orions Belte and Death By Unga Bunga.

“SXSW is a unique opportunity to showcase yourself in the US, without having an artist visa, a prosess which is time consuming and expensive. In addition it’s a great networking arena, where you find the music industry from the whole world represented. This will be the sixth time we put this together, and SXSW are always supportive. This year we’ll have the event at Elysium, which is a great venue in the heart of the strip. We can’t wait!,” Brilliance CEO, Ruben Nesse tells us.
