Ljodahått is a project founded by the Norwegian actor Magne Håvard Brekke, involving Norwegian, French, English, German, Swiss and Austrian musicians and composers. After 25 years spent moving around Europe, Magne brought them all together to embark on a special project.
The central aspect of the Ljodahått project is to revitalize the cultural heritage of old Norwegian poetry (Edda). Ljodahått aims to convey centuries-old values and attitudes through their unique style of musical expression.
Ljodahått creates music to emphasise the individual character and content of each poem, blending elements of rock, folk, jazz and pop, bound together with deep intensity.
All the songs are performed in Norwegian; some of them by French, Swiss and German vocalists.
