Festspillene i Bergen / The Bergen International Festival, established in 1953, is the flagship of music and theatre festivals in the Nordic countries.
A hub for the Northern European arts scene, the festival has a multifaceted programme profile renowned for world premieres and new productions of music, opera, theatre and dance. Unique venues, including Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg’s own home and the 750-year-old royal hall Håkonshallen, constitute a rich historical framework around a vibrant festival which every year gives audiences hundreds of live, exploratory events on dozens of stages indoors and out.
Festspillene wants the delegate program in 2022 to facilitate export and international profiling and media coverage of Norwegian music and musicians, co-productions and facilitate networking for Norwegian delegates towards an international market.
We offer a varied program of concerts, meeting places, talks and opportunities for excursions and tours that give delegates the opportunity to make contacts and experience concerts and performances at the highest level on several of the Bergen area's cultural scenes.The program is a collaboration between the Bergen Festival, Music Norway, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Performing Arts Hub Norway.
