The young singer follows Nico & Vinz and Todd Terje as recipient of the prize.

On Monday, European Border Breaker Awards (EBBA) announced that Aurora is to receive the prestigious prize in January following her European success the last year. Aurora has been touring extensively in Europe for moths, with several shows in the US, UK and Germany. The singer also saw a major international boost when Katy Perry proclaimed her love for Aurora on Twitter.

EBBA focus on breaking down the borders and highlight growing European pop, rock and electronic artists who has seen international success. Previous winner of the prize include Adele, Hozier and Milky Chance, as well as Norway’s own Nico & Vinz (2014) and Todd Terje (2015).

To qualify for the prize, artists have to have achived international success with their first international release in Europe between August 1st. 2014 and July 31th 2015, which Aurora’s debut EP “Running With the Wolves” certainly has.
