Highasakite to support Of Monsters and Men on upcoming world tour

By Tomas Lauvland Pettersen Posted: 27. Mar, 2015

May to July sees Highasakite heading out on an extensive tour of the US, Canada, UK, France, Switzerland and Germany, supporting Icelanders Of Monsters and Men.

Highasakite were hand-picked by Of Monsters and Men as the outfit’s chosen support act for their world-tour. The Icelanders broke through with their 2011 platinum-selling single ‘Little Talks’, before releasing their 2012 album ‘My Head Is An Animal’, which shot to the top of the Billboard Top 200 and shifted more than 2m units world-wide.

Highasakite have had an equally banner year since the release of their ‘Silent Treatment’ which has earned the band two Spellemannspris awards (the equivalent to the Grammy), has maintained a 58-week national sales chart run and ended up being the most streamed Norwegian album on the home market in 2014. The last year has seen the band touring the US, throughout Europe and in Australia.

Says Highasakite in a comment: – This is very fun for us to have the opportunity to be a part of this tour, giving us a unique opportunity to present ourselves to a large audience on the East Coast of the United States. Last year we had the opportunity to reach out to the West Coast audience with a tour with London Grammar – it is fantastic to get to play for the entire East Coast on this tour.
