Øya Festival club nights in London

Club NME teams up with Oya Festival and Music Norway once more to bring a night of Norway’s finest music to London with Mikhael Paskalev and Proviant Audio hitting the stages of Elektrowerkz and Koko in early February.

In recent years, bands such as Razika, Young Dreams, Highasakite, Sandra Kolstad and Team Me have all been featured at the Øya Festival club nights held annually in London in early February. For the 2014 edition of the joint Øya/Club NME/Music Norway event, Mikhael Paskalev and Proviant Audio team up for a set of gigs in London on 6/7 February.

The two acts kick off their London campaign with an intimate gig at Elektrowerkz on 6. February, followed by the annual Øya Festival night at Club NME at KOKO in Camden High Street the next day.

Mikhael Paskalev
Mikhael Paskalev is pop music with roots in indie and alternative country rock. Mikhael’s songs are shamelessly catchy: he’s inspired by names such as Paul Simon, The Shins, Edward Sharpe, the Mamas & Papas and the Everly brothers. Paskalev’s sets are dynamic, and vary from songs accompanied only by his nylon-strung guitar to a six-piece band with the occasional trumpet and a circus of energy.

Proviant Audio
Proviant Audio is the recording moniker of Norwegian drummer/multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Mathias Stubø, an artist who at the tender age of eighteen is set to create quite a stir with his inspirational sound.

At home, Stubø has already gained fame having won an ‘Artist of the Week’ award on Norway’s national radio network, NRK P3 (and at the incredible age of 14!). In 2010 the same station nominated him in the ‘Artist of the Year’ category and he has been building a solid reputation for his live performances backed by a full band of up to 12 members.
