18th April at Birthdays, and tickets are only £5

For the eighth year running, Øya Festival teams up with with Music Norway for a special London event, showcasing two of Norway’s hottest rising stars and Øya 2018 artists: Pom Poko and Sassy009.  Øya Nights in London will take place at Birthdays, Dalston, April 18th.  Tickets are £5 and available via dice.fm.

Despite forming just over a year ago, Norwegian quartet Pom Poko are rapidly gaining momentum with their experimental art rock sound. The band has already been praised from the likes of The Line of Best Fit, The Independent, Clash, DIY and Radio 1, and was included in NME’s Ones To Watch in 2018.  Pom Poko are now gearing up to release their debut album later this year.

Joining them are Oslo trio Sassy009. The all female group deliver seamless electronic pop productions playing live flute over electronic beats.  Their debut EP ‘Do You Mind’ was released in November, proving to be an instant club dancefloor hit.  Expect scrambled noise and abstract sequences in amongst the sharp hooks and dancey top lines.
