Recorded music revenue in Norway grew 12,3% from 2015 to 2016, totaling $114,2 million.

The newly released Global Music Report 2017 tells of a healthy, and growing Norwegian music industry with revenue from recorded music continuing its year-on-year increase. In 2016 revenues were up 12,3% compared with 2015. Besides a dip in revenues in 2014, recorded music has seen a steady revenue increase since 2012, with 2016’s numbers 22,45% higher than 2012’s (NOK 784,1 mill vs. NOK 960,1 mill).

Norway is now the 18th largest market for recorded music, jumping two spots from 2015. The average Norwegian spent $21,7 on recorded music in 2016. We already know Norwegians are some of the world’s leading music fans, with almost 40% of Norwegians buying a music festival ticket in 2015.
