Production duo SeeB get’s over 3,1 million Spotify streams a day with their remix of Mike Posner’s “I Took A Pill In Ibiza”.

Update feb 20: On the chart dated April 30th, SeeB climbs two spots from 8th to 6th, now totalling 13 weeks on Hot 100. ‘I Took A Pill In Ibiza’ have been streamed more than 266 million times on Spotify.

Sometimes a remix completely outshines the original track. Norwegian production duo SeeB are the latest to experience this with their remix of Mike Posner’s I Took A Pill In Ibiza. While the original track has a total of 2,5 million Spotify streams, Seeb’s remix just surpassed 80 million, increasing by 1,6 million a day.

The track climbs Billboard Hot 100 for the third week, claiming #48 this week, an 11 spot jump from last week.

We reached out to SeeB’s Espen and Simen to hear how it all came to place and what’s next for the two.

– Congrats on the massive numbers! What’s the story behind it?

– We got a request to do a remix of  a Shawn Mendes song and they liked it so much they let us choose between some of Mike Posner’s new tracks, and we we heard the lyrics of Ibiza we just knew.

– What’s next? When do we get more music from you?

– We are working on both other remixes and original material at the moment, so there will be more music from Seeb in the near future. We’re just having fun in the studio, working with what we love without thinking too much about what we should do.
