Highasakite's 'Silent Treatment' is the most streamed Norwegian album on WiMP

WiMP announce the most streamed tracks and albums of the year. Kygo and Highasakite tops.

With little under a month left of the year, WiMP released the most played tracks and albums of the year. On top we find Kygo and Highasakite, who both have seen international success this year. If you’ve checked in with our Top Ten-lists throughout the year, you’ve definitely familier with Kygo’s monster hit ‘Younger‘. Originally a track by Swedish Seinabo Sey, Kygo’s remix saw both artists reach new hights. ‘Younger’ made Kygo the name on everyones lips and marked the start of him becoming one of the biggest producers in the electronic changre today. Even though he released his first original track this week, Kygos sound is unmistakable. And with more tropical house music coming up, Kygo is likely to dominate the Norwegian music scene in 2015.

Measured in streams, no Norwegian album was bigger then ‘Silent Treatment‘ from Highasakite. The group’s second album made them one of the biggest names in Norway this year, headlining several of the largest music festivals around the country. The critically acclaimed album sent Highasakite on tour in US, Europe and Asia and they’re set for a Australia-tour in the beginning of 2015!

OnklP and Broiler on top last week
Diving into last week’s charts we see that OnklP & De Fjerne Slektningene and Broiler hold on to their #1 positions on WiMP and Spotify. ‘Younger‘ is still one of the most streamed tracks, up one this week to #4 on WiMP and keeping its #8 on Spotify.

Røyksopp are still going strong, with three tracks at the top. Replacing ‘Sordid Affair’ with Susanne Sundfør collaboration ‘Save Me‘, new at #10. ‘Engel‘. the second to most streamed track on WiMP this year, keeps strong at #8.

At Spotify, christmas has arrived with Kurt Nilsen and Kringskastingsorkesteret’s ‘Himmel på jord‘ on #9. The now four years old song is a holiday favorite and is likely to climb the next weeks. Kurt Nilsen is also a judge on Norwegian Idol this season, and two of the finalists make an entry to our Top Ten: Chinook and ‘Go Home‘ takes #4, while Jesper Jenset and his ‘Call Me Yours‘ takes #6.
