From October 20th to 22nd, the Conductor Conference 2023 will be held at Sentralen in Oslo, and this year's theme is "Conducting change: Innovation, collaboration, and diversity in classical music."
In collaboration with Music Norway, Dirigentløftet (The Conductor's Lift) and Sparebankstiftelsen (The Savings Bank Foundation) invite you to a weekend of inspiration, enrichment, and workshops.
The program includes several points of interest that are also relevant for composers, and it is possible to participate in selected portions of the program.
Friday, October 20th: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, featuring:
- "Change – Threat or Opportunity?" with Paul Hughes
- "Communication and New Repertoire" with Peter Herresthal, Catharina Roos Bilsbak, Rolf Gupta, Ron Davis Alvarez, and Kjetil Almenning, focusing on the new Norwegian orchestral repertoire, with Marcus Paus.
Saturday, October 21st: 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM: "The Conductor's Role and Opportunities in Program Development" with Paul Hughes.
2:15 PM to 4:15 PM: "Modern Artistic Leadership" with Sasha Goetze.
Conductor Conference XL 2023 In this annual series of conductor conferences, this edition serves as a meeting place not only for conductors of all types but for everyone in the classical music field interested in questions regarding tradition and innovation in repertoire, performance, and outreach, as well as inclusion and diversity.

Workshop Weekend:
Inclusive Methods Following the conductor conference, there will be a workshop weekend open to students, teachers, and conductors seeking tools and methods to inspire children and youth. You can participate in one or more sessions.
